I tried being a vegetarian out of a sense of moral responsibility (Buddhism, you know) for years, but I couldn't get off burgers and pepperoni on my pizza. Then I started learning about how the food industry is run, especially meat production. I am now a completely organic, refusing even to eat in most restaurants, and the only meat I eat is free-range chicken. Sometimes we need instant karma to get us to do the right thing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434291.post-1130639357373630762005-10-30T11:29:00.000+09:002005-10-30T11:29:00.000+09:00The big red letters looked quite normal to me -- G...The big red letters looked quite normal to me -- Given the state of national and world events, oh, especially these last 5 going on 6 years, I tend to think in big red letters regularly.

Granny D gives me great longing for a time when we were more tribe-like and our elders were the ones who guided us, and comforted us, with their wisdom and long sight. We could seek them out in times when counsel was needed, and heed their well worn experiences as guidance for the path in front of us.

No, I had to miss out on hearing her voice, my present computer has no sound. But I can hear her in her written words, she has a distinctive voice. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434291.post-1130486058272014842005-10-28T16:54:00.000+09:002005-10-28T16:54:00.000+09:00Isn't she though? Did you download her radio shows I linked to in that post?

As to cynicism, it has its place; useful for brief visits, you just don't want to live there.

(Regarding the big red letters, I sometimes overstate the case to achieve a bit more oomph.)Robert Bradyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12299574758004022747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434291.post-1130484873467695892005-10-28T16:34:00.000+09:002005-10-28T16:34:00.000+09:00Sadly, your big red letters apply to most anything...Sadly, your big red letters apply to most anything dealing with reality and truth these days, be it in relation to food or politics or religion or..or..or...the list goes on. Believe them, they do not care or want to know. Sometimes I can depress myself with my cynicism, I think I just did, if I depressed you, I apologize. Thanks Dalene.

On an exceedingly more inspiring note, I just received, yea!, my copy of Granny D. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your introduction to her here at your blog, she is a phenomenally interesting wise woman.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
