I am surprised the commentator said that "Americans believe this has been solved"... how the hell could she say that? The devastation alone would take eons to solve!. Common sense is obvious that this issue will go on for ever... Its a shame the people believed the lies... Fear seems to do that doesn't it?
@Tabor: 'Short memories"? I think its denial...Americans seem to just think about what is 'in their backyard' which is typical ...Also it doesn't help when the media picks and chooses what to print/televise.. People are robots- they hear and read what is put in front of them, they don't delve further unless it pertains to them.

I am not surprised. We have the technology to build these creations, but we cannot handle them once they are built.
I think American's have very short memories and most do not even think about this tragedy. We live such sheltered lives, we do not really understand.
No surprise there. Anyone who thinks Japanese officials tell the truth except for when it's convenient have their head in the sand.
