THE GODLY PERSPECTIVE

Go to EarthAlbumJapan. Go in one level. Just below the blue-and-white shield for highway 8, now visible down at the left, is Lake Biwa. Center on that, then go in about 4 levels and find the bridge across the southerly narrow neck of the Lake (Biwako [Lake Biwa] Ohashi [bridge]). Just an inch or two above that, in the mountains on the western shore, if you have infinite resolution, you'll see a pixel waving up at you; that's me. You're God.

Damn that's close! Used to sail out of the Wani Yacht Club for a few years...

I probably watched your sails gracing the blue water...

There was a gravelly beach under pines a few kilometres northward of the marina...I've forgotten the name. Overcrowded in the summer, but quite pleasant to relax at in the spring and fall.

That might be Matsunoura, near Shiga Station on the Kosei line (more sandy parts than gravelly though, so maybe not) or a bit further north, Omimaiko, a beachy peninsula near Omimaiko station...?

Ah yes, Omimaiko it is! Seems overrun by jetskis and large gangs of wild youths in summer. But, rather pleasant just pre/post season. Then again, isn't anywhere... :)
