NEOBLOGGERIZED

Well, I've done it. I've taken the plunge and I'm not looking back, except occasionally, for reference. Finally switched to the post-betablogger and lost all my sidebar links, now stark nakedly have to figure out how to transfer links en masse, tweak everything, who has the time?

But I'll get 'em all back up there even if I have to use thumb tacks. At least now people can dip into and link to the archive, which is neat. That function had disappeared recently as they drained the life force from paleoblogger, eventually making me one of the last holdouts, on that one mountainous island in the vast ethereal sea...

Seems like I can't play with the html as much as I'd like to though; have to poke and prod, play around, make mistakes, get dirty, have some fun, learn some new stuff, which is always good. Anyway, not as radical a change as I'd expected. Suggestions welcome.

My blog was so plan vanilla that my switch was pretty painless. Guess it pays to be boring sometimes.

I hate it when that happens -- upgrading to get new features, but finding yourself lost in the morass created by novice programmers who got the job with the low bid.

Hang in there, you'll get it all back... Or you could switch to WordPress and be done with it...

Whoa, what a surprise when I came to visit your site last night. I thought I was in the twilight zone. I actually like it. I know it's a pain to figure out how to get all of your links back...but you will. Congrats on the move.

I recommend switching to WordPress

I like the readability of your "new" site. The old one took a long time to load but this doesn't.

Gambatte on figuring out how everything works. I'm still doing that( maybe forever).

Once you become used to it, you will find the newer Blogger to be easier than the older Blogger. That was my experience.

Best,

Major changes are always a pain. There's some stuff that still isn't exactly the way I'd like it from when I moved about a year ago! Namely, I still can't get my template to categorize my blogroll, hence I had to drop a section of webcomics.

I know The Moderate Voice did a mass migration recently. They may have advice on how to make the process less painful.
