The Granddaughters in their kimono for shichi-go-san in November last year. That's Kaya (now 6) in the middle, Mitsuki with the formally positioned hands on the left and Miasa, the younger twin (both now 4), on the right.
Absolutely fabulous! Reminds me of the beauty of my Rocky Mountain home... http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=en&q=three+sisters+rockies&btnG=Search+Images
OHMIGAWSH! They are PRECIOUS!! Kaya is such a grown up big sister. And it is hard to believe they are 4 already!! WOW!! Now that should be your screensaver!! Now you need to post one of echo and your daughter in their kimonos!
The younger the wearer, the brighter the kimono, more or less. And the footwear doesn't matter; you can't run in a kimono anyway (not the way kids run!), it's so snug around the ankles; and besides, it would be SO un-ladylike...
Born and raised in upstate New York, traveled for a decade after college, lived in various places around the world, keeping a journal. Settled in Kyoto in 1980, moved to this mountainside above Lake Biwa in 1995. Started Pure Land Mountain in April 2002.

They are so beautiful like three little dolls all dressed up.

Oh my gosh!! These young ladies are stunning; to say the least. You must be swelled with grandpapa pride for them.

Beautiful! And what colours! Does the choice of colour carry any significance in the kimono? Kaya seems very wise too, somehow already a bit grown up.
Just curiosity: is it possible to run with that footwear? Or do the twins shed them to distract any followers like they used to do with their boots?
