JURIDICAL BODIES

This explains a lot.

NEW SUPREME CORPORATION RULING:

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that a corporation's principal place of business is where the executive's work (HQ), not where the company does business. The practical effect of this ruling is that it will now be more difficult to sue corporations in state courts, which are often more plaintiff-friendly than federal courts.

It boggles the mind. How can such learned people make such a boned-headed assault on the foundations of US democracy?
You hit the nail on the head exactly -

"Ladies and Gentlemen - the President of the United States - brought to you by Campbell Soup. Mmm-Mmm Good!!"

Fits in well with the big picture that's been hidden in plain sight all these years...

Yeah with politics in general, but still... until now, I'd had some lingering respect for the Supreme Court - even after Rehnquist put racing stripes on his Chief Justice robe and later gave the election to Bush despite the popular vote. And even a little still after Bush piled the court high with ultra-conservatives while the democrats picked their noses or what have you.
But expect this? No.
I am still a little green around the gills I guess - willfully keeping the creeping cynicism that comes to us all with advancing age.
