MEANWHILE, IN HEAT SYNDROME CITY...

Meanwhile up in superheated Tokyo, where there are no mountains, secret forest waterfalls, lakes or beaches to speak of, a lot of people gather at indoor pools; in the above case en masse, in the massiest sense of the phrase... See what happens to all those folks, who are actually in a pool, when the wave machine gets fixed (scroll down)...

At this point the small amount of fluid remaining in the pool consists of:

40% water
40% human sweat
18% pee
2% other (better not to know)

Yuk! The above comment caused me to feel more ill than did watching the wave...
It actually looks like something that would be kinda' fun to do with just a few people in the water; but, if I were in that water with all those people, I would surely die.

I heard many people expressing their opinions in various blogs that the video was not a real one. Can you confirm to me that it is real? It seems very strange to me that in Japan where everything is well controlled allows such a crowded swimming pool. Thanks.

I saw this on another site, and all I could think was...Oh dear God....you have got to be kidding. Never in a million years could I be in the middle of that.

Frankie, it is real. It's so rare as to be unique, but it's real. The wave machine was broken, and when they announced it was fixed, everybody who could jumped into the pool to get 'waved.' Japanese city folks are very used to crowding (viz. rush-hour trains), though this is overdoing it in a public pool, which might ordinarily be up to half as crowded as this...

How on earth would a lifeguard ever spot anyone who was drowning?
