After a month away no plums left on the tree - but a tiny green frog

We've lived in our mountain home here in Utah for nearly 3 years. We have cherry, plum, and apricot trees and strawberries in the back garden. Except for the apricots, we haven't tasted a morsel from the other fruits, but we have healthy squirrels, birds, rabbits, and no doubt mice as well. It's a sacrifice we've prepared ourselves to make for these little creatures sharing this little plot of mountain with us.
Born and raised in upstate New York, traveled for a decade after college, lived in various places around the world, keeping a journal. Settled in Kyoto in 1980, moved to this mountainside above Lake Biwa in 1995. Started Pure Land Mountain in April 2002.
